Baby Andrew

This weekend Britt, Allison, and I drove down to Aliceville to visit Andrew Caleb Hamlin. He is already six weeks old!! When we arrived, Chelsey had him dressed in the sweetest outfit...a blue and white linen bubble!! Baby Andrew is absolutely beautiful and has such a gentle disposition. He only cried once the whole time we were there and that was only because he was hungry!! haha He is already sleeping almost five hours at a time! Chelsey is such an amazing mom. She looked great and the whole Hamlin family is doing wonderfully since the birth!! I took TONS of pics, but here are some of the best ones!

He is soooooo sweet!

I didn't want to leave!!!

Baby Andrew, we loved meeting you! Your "Aunts" love you very much and we can't wait to see you again very soon!!!!!

SBK 2K10: Part 2

On Thursday, Caroline and I loaded up and headed down to Lake Martin for some R & R! Caroline just happened to take the week off work this week, (She is an accountant and just finished busy season!!) so we decided a visit to the lake was in order. The Mears family has a beautiful lake house! I'm thankful we waited until the end of the week to go because the weather at the beginning of the week was nasty!!! We enjoyed great food, fun drinks, and the BEAUTIFUL sun! I can't believe SBK 2K10 is almost over...I feel like it just began!

We spent a lot of time on this porch talking/eating/drinking!

Before dinner, we went for a ride around the neighborhood in the Stealth!!

But don't worry, we brought our cocktails with us!!!

We had dinner reservations at Springhouse. Although we had an amazing 3-course meal, Caroline was a little disappointed because they had a limited menu since it was during the week, but it ended up being fabulous! We each had fun salads, shrimp and grits, fish, and yummy desserts! We were stuffed when we left, but it was worth it! I rarely treat myself to such a nice dinner, but I decided to blow it out for SBK!

We decided to get our desserts to-go. My homemade apple pie was soooo good!

Let there be sun!!!!!!

We had a great time just hanging out and pretty much doing whatever we wanted. Caroline's motto is: "Whatever makes a girl happy!" And we pretty much lived by that this week! Thanks Caroline for a wonderful trip!! Hope everyone is enjoying the first official day of Spring!
When I return to the stress and chaos of work on Monday, I will picture this...TRANQUILITY!

SBK 2K10: Part 1

It's Spring Break week......yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, I'm not at a tropical location with my friends, but I did visit the 2nd best location.....AUBURN!!!!! A couple of months ago, I asked my mom if we could make a trip to AU during my spring break...and she said yes! So my mom, AK, the DB, cousin Connor, Aunt Jenn, and I all loaded up in the Expedition and rolled down south to the Loveliest Village on the Plains. We had a WONDERFUL time. Basically, all we did was eat and shop....but that is exactly all we wanted to do!!! I took pics of everything like a big dork. I totally acted like an old alumni!

I feel like I was just in college the other day, but when I visit the campus I realize how long it has been. While we were shopping, a girl in a store asked AK and me if we went to school there! haha We burst out laughing, but we were flattered! :) We did all the things that there is never time to do during football season. We went to the AU bookstore, drove around campus, (even drove by Beard Eaves one last time before it gets demolished) shopped up and down College St.(Behind the Glass, Wrapsody, The Buzz, etc.) and ate at our favorite restaurants. We ate lunch at Hamilton's and dinner at Amsterdam's (if I die tomorrow, I die a happy girl because I was able to eat some yummy turkey wraps!!!). And I have to admit, I even went to TCBY!! A trip to AU for me would not be complete without some fro-yo!! haha We had a great time and I'm already ready for football season!

AK forgot the stroller so we bought one at Wally-World on the way down...then we couldn't dissassemble it...it was a major cluster!

Cutest pic ever! Auburn's #1 fan!!!!!

Although it is Spring Break, it was COOOOLD in AU!!! Please notice the hat...hilarious! And in her lap is "Lamby"-her BFF! We can't go anywhere without her!

My dorm Freshman year

I know we look like ants in the pic, but I had to get the name of the dorm in the pic. I can't believe that this is not the home of the Owls anymore!!! :(

Yes, we're dressed in matching outfits (no, it wasn't planned!)..it looks like we're ready for a bop-line and Rush week!!!
(We were reliving our glory days!!)

After much sightseeing and eating, it was back to the Conference Center to call it a night. We decided it was the perfect night for a pajama party!!!!! We had so much fun running back and forth between our rooms and playing with the DB!

DB in her piggy pjs!!!

I'm heading to A'ville tomorrow and to the lake on Thursday! So stay tuned for a Part 2 update!!

Happy Birthday KLC

I can't tell you the exact day that I met Kinzi Crow, but I think it was sometime in the 1st grade. Ever since that time, she has been my BFF! haha But I do mean that. She is my partner-in-crime, the person I tell EVERYTHING to, and the person (besides my family) who knows me best. When we parted ways and went to different colleges, I thought I was going to die. But a few hours didn't keep us from continuing our daily early morning 6 a.m. chats (which we still do!) and keeping in-touch. God was definitely looking after us when he put us in the same city after college. If she ever moves away from Birmingham, I seriously might have to move too!!!

Through the years we've: had many dance parties, eaten lots of Little Debbie snack cakes while driving the Buick and listening to Destiny's Child, cried, laughed so hard 'til we both almost wet our pants, done a few drive-bys, gone on LOTS of shopping trips, had a blow-out on I59 in the 626, had many Cracker Barrel dinner dates, cruised the ole Strip in the Exploder, listened to TONS of Roy D. Mercer, and marched in the band!!! I guess I should end the list, but honestly, it could go on and on and on. Most of my best memories are with this special gal.

In high school, Kinzi was voted "Best Personality". She is the easiest person to talk to and I admire her always-positive attitude. The past two years have been pretty rough for her, but you would never know it if you met her. Hands down, she is the funniest person I have ever met. At any given second, you would probably find her laughing! She is the best BFF a girl could ask for. Below are some pics of us throughout the years!

This pic is from 1st grade...can you figure out which ones we are??!!

Spring Has Almost Sprung!

I have spring fever....big-time! I can't help daydreaming about flip-flops and sundresses lately! Easter is one of my very favorite times of year. A few years ago, my dad coined the term "bunny pull". He bought my mom a present and surprised her and said, "This is your bunny pull!" At first we made fun of the line, but now we use it all the time. It pretty much describes a special treat bought for someone. This year, I decided to give the women in my family a very special "bunny pull" from me. My idea came from Pottery Barn's new spring catalogue. My love for bunnies comes from my mom. She loves rabbits and has them hiding all over our house in A'ville! Whenever I add bunnies to my own home it reminds me of my mom and our house. I saw this little guy in the catlogue and decided that it would make the perfect "bunny pull"!!!

Of course mine is filled with my fave....SweetTart chicks and bunnies!

I am also enjoying putting out spring decorations in my house! I tried to assemble an egg tree this weekend. After spending almost 20 minutes hanging decorative eggs from a tree, my mom later tells me in the middle of shopping at the Summit that she thought it looked "bunk"! haha Gotta love a mom's honesty! So needless to say, the tree was taken down. I found this adorable plate tucked away in my buffet and decided it needed to be displayed.

My parents picked this plate up for me in California a few years back!

My brown chair in the living room has been screaming for a pillow! I have been looking around, but haven't been able to find one that I was sold on. While my mom stayed with me this past weekend, she surprised me with a "bunny pull" of her own! She ordered this beautiful pillow in ATL for me!

I loooooove this pillow!

As mentioned in an earlier post, I have been wanting to get my new camera bag monogrammed. I didn't trust myself to pick out the monogram by myself, so I enlisted the help of my mom. I knew it had to be pink (of course!) and it had to have swirls. The women at The Blue Willow (The Willowettes) cracked up at my mom and me. It was a cluster to say the least! I picked up the bag today and I am blown away at how it turned out!

The prettiest monogram!

Ole`!!!

Before the weddings come wedding parties. Last weekend, I helped host a party for one of my good friends from high school, Miss Sara Patterson. We had the party at Rojo here in B'ham. It was lots of fun and it was great to see our friends from high school. We've definitely changed a lot since those times, but when we all get together it's as if no time has passed.

Steven, me, Kinzi, The Bride-to-Be, and Matthew

Kinzi and me

Last night, I helped host a Stock-the-Bar fiesta themed party for Brittany and Andrew. Bailey and Porter hosted the shindig at their new house in Bluff Park. I think it was one of the best parties we've ever thrown! The weather was amazing and the food/drinks were delicious! We had the house completely decked out with Mexican/Fiesta decorations everywhere! Pinatas...maroccas...margaritas...fajitas...chili pepper lights!! We even had a sombrero with a veil attached for Britt to wear! Towards the end of the night, a dance party erupted in the dining room. Think there was even a game of limbo played!!

These cookies tasted as good as they looked!!!

The Dora pinata was hilarious!!

This pic is a re-creation of our pose from a Valentine's Day Social...circa 2003!

We took a break from the "dance party" to pose for a pic!

I am loving the semi-spring weather we are having! Winter is my favorite season, but after the coldest winter ever this year, I am ready for some sunshine and warmer temps...honesly, I'm just ready to bust out my spring clothes!! haha They're so much more fun than frumpy winter clothes!
