Celebrations

This week has been a week of celebrations! My DoodleBug turned 2 on Thursday!! I really can't believe she is already two years old! I feel like she was just born the other day...but I guess what they say is true, "Time flies when you're having fun!". Katherine has brought so much joy to our lives and I am so grateful to live in the same town as her so that I am able to watch her grow up. I absolutley love being an aunt!! I took the day off of work because I wanted to soak in as much DB time as I could.

Wednesday afternoon, I went to PartyCity and bought two massive "2" balloons!! They were HUGE and completely took up my entire backseat. I wanted her to have one to play with in the house and one for AK to put on their mailbox. Bright and early Thursday morning, the whole Decker crew headed over to the Crowe's house to celebrate with DB before she had to leave for M.D.O. I was excited to finally give DB her birthday presents!! I don't think she knew exactly what was going on, but she was excited to have so many people there that were all about her! haha

One of the "2" balloons!

My mom made DB her own personal birthday cupcake!!

My 1st present for DB was a painting of her silhouette. It turned out beautifully!!

My 2nd present for her was an owl "napmat"! I thought it was too cute not to buy!!

"D" and DB on their way to M.D.O.!!

I LOVED sitting in this line for M.D.O.!! When DB got out of the car she started to cry and I completely lost it. I cried the whole way back to Sister's house...can y'all imagine how I will act if I ever have my own children??!!

After celebrating with DB, it was time to head out to one of my old schools to help host a baby shower for Mrs. Mandie Gibbs! It was great to see all my old coworkers and celebrate the upcoming arrival of her baby. She doesn't know what she's having, so we went with a neutral color scheme. I was in charge of the flowers and decor and below are pics of some of the things I whipped up. Mom-thanks for all your help!!

This bear was sooooo sweet!!

Katherine's 2nd Birthday Party

This morning was DB's 2nd Birthday Party. This year, the theme was crayons! Of course, Sister outdid herself yet again with her mad party planning skills. Everything was soooo cute and the kids had the best time! I think in total I took around 250 pictures! No, I did not post all of them on this post, but caution....there are quite a few! Enjoy!!

The actual party invite...it was a box of crayons with the info labeled on the individual crayons!!

The adults enjoyed snacking on the spinach dip and the kids LOVED the M&Ms and goldfish!!

The pinata was full of gummies and suckers...DB discovered her love of 'Dum-Dums'!!

I have to admit, I'm pooped from the big celebration! But the weather couldn't have been better and it was great to see lots of close friends and family. Expect lots of posts this week...I am taking off work on DB's actual b'day on Thursday so I can celebrate with her! Yes, I know she's not my actual daughter, but I love her like she's my own!

My Classroom

When I started my first job over 3 years ago, I dreamt of having my own classroom. I wanted my own desk, bulletin boards, and school supplies everywhere! I was ecstatic this summer when my new principal informed me that I had my own room....and my own private bathroom! I started crying and really felt like Christmas came early for me!

Of course I enlisted the help of my amazing mom to help me spiff up my room. I knew I wanted to incorporate my love of owls into the room and I am so pleased with how it all came together. I smile every time I open my door! Hoooooooty-Hooooooooooo everyone!

This is what you see when you walk into my room!!

I had this banner painted to hang on my door!

My awesome sister bought me this owl lamp to go on my bookcase!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to fall! I know I am looking forward to some cooler weather and fall decor! Ok, enough blogging...it's time to go watch the Tigers play! WDE!!!!!
