Carter's Sprinkle

People always say that "time flies when you're having fun"....and after this weekend, I know that saying is true.  Sister, Libby and I loaded up the "Burb" and went to the A-T-L to spend some time with my sister from another mother, Tara, a.k.a. "61". 

For those of you who are new to the blog, I'll explain who "61" is.  Not sure when I met 61, but it's been a LONG time ago, now.  She's always felt more like a sister and a true member of the Decker fam than just one of Sister's college friends.  When she and her hubby Felix lived in AU as newlyweds, I would have spend-the-night parties in the "heavenly".  I've been lucky enough to be a part of some big events with her...I went to her wedding, sat in the waiting room during a BIG surgery, and even happened to time it just right to meet Baby Blair right after she came into the world.  And, I have to note that she plays "referee" between Sister and me when we start fighting...she LOVES to call "reindeer"! haha 

So all of that to say, when I got my invite to Baby Carter's Sprinkle, I knew I couldn't miss it.  Like me, Sister has an amazing group of college friends.  They throw parties like professionals!  Baby Carter was given some of the cutest gifts...she is already so loved by so many ppl!

After dinner Friday night, Jenn Simp gave 61 a much needed pedi!

Baby Libby went on her first road trip!  She traveled like a champ and enjoyed her first "girls weekend"!

The Sprinkle was held at "The Swan Coach House" in ATL...it was a perfect venue!

January Recipe Club

Hello, February!

I don't know about y'all, but I've never been so glad to see February arrive!  January seemed like the LONGEST month ever.  I love February for lots of reasons:  it's a short month, it's my birthday month, and we get to celebrate Valentine's Day!  I'm totally in the holiday spirit and have V-Day decor all over my house...gotta love a holiday that is all about the color pink and candy!

Happy February, y'all!  Hope everyone's February is full of love...oh, and lots of candy eating!  :)

Weeks-End!

I was fortunate enough to spend the last weekend with my favorite girls at the "Weeks-End" on Lake Martin.  Bess planned our "Winter Wonderland Focker Weekend" and hosted us at her amazingly beautiful in-law's lake house. 

We were worried we wouldn't have enough to drink....  :)

I was so excited to see these girls...some of us only see each other twice a year.

The "owl" gear and AU gear were out in full force...you can tell we're getting old when we want to stay in our pjs all weekend!

Bess and Britt organized "Focker Family Trivia" on Friday night...I swear I've never heard of or done anything any funner! (Their costumes made it even funnier!) They even brought us buzzers so that we could "buzz" in when we knew the answer to the question.  Each question started with, "Which Focker did this...?".  It was a blast going down memory lane!

Late Saturday afternoon, we drug ourselves out of our pjs and got all "fancied up" for a fun dinner at Spring House! 

Hands down this is our BEST group shot EVER!  A huge thanks to AK and my nieces for giving me a tripod for Christmas...it came in very handy!

I woke up on Sunday morning with swollen eyelids, a croaky voice and a headache.  Those three things = a WONDERFUL weekend.  Thanks, Bess, for planning such a fun few days.  I love you girls and am already missing everyone!  'Til our summer reunion.....Hooty-Hoot!!!!

 

What's In My Bag?

As previously confessed, I LOVE reading US Weekly and finding out all the juicy celeb gossip.  Along with "25 Things You Don't Know About Me", I always enjoy reading "What's In My Bag?"  This morning, I emptied out my purse (and yes, this is exactly what was in it!).  The contents of my purse are completely random, but most of them are staples for me.

• sunglasses and my reading glasses
• WW calculator
• iPhone
• movie stub from "Chipwrecked" that I took DB to see over Christmas
• Orbit 'sweetmint' gum
• make-up bag with about a bajillion different chapsticks/lipglosses/lipsticks
• wallet and checkbook
• "Hoot-Out" coozie
• I "dislike" Bama button (sorry to all you Bammers that are readers, but it literally stays in my bag all year roud!)  :)
• a key to the "North Pole" that I was given when I took DB to see Santa
• key chain
• name badge from my Junior League placement at Children's Hospital

My purse is usually a wreck on the inside...One of my DB's favorite things to do is to go through "Gigi's purse".  She's recently taken a liking to gum, so she always grabs a piece of Orbit while putting on all my different lipsticks!  haha

2011 in Review

• In January, I went to Glendale, AZ, with my family to watch our Tigers play in the National Championship and WIN...it was the trip of a lifetime!

• In February, I celebrated my 27th Birthday!

• In March, I spent Spring Break with my DB!

• In April, I said good-bye to my CrackBerry and said hello to my iPhone!



• In May, I found out I was going to be an Aunt again...overjoyed doesn't begin to describe my excitement!

• In June, I hosted our annual "Hoot-Out" at Ross Bridge!

• In July, I spent the 4th at this beautiful lake house with some great friends!

• In August, I moved to a new classroom and started my 5th year as a school-based SLP!

• In September, I went to AU's first football game of the season with these fun girls!

• In October, my childhood best friend, Matthew, got married in KY!

• In November, I helped "Sprinkle" Sister and Baby Libby with these girls!

• In December, my second niece, Elizabeth "Libby" Decker Crowe, made her debut!

2011 was a wonderful and blessed year for me...I'm looking forward to 2012 and all it has to bring!  Happy New Year, y'all!
