A New Chapter Begins...

For the past three years, my friends and I have settled into our first adult jobs. And all of a sudden, like in the past couple of weeks, several of us have gotten new jobs...including myself! Seems weird that it all happened around the same time, but that's just how we roll! haha

I have always thought about the possibility of a new job, but never thought it would actually happen. I will be an SLP at a school system here in B'ham and won't have to travel between schools...woo-hoo!! I am so proud of all my hard-working, accomplished friends! Congrats girls!!

My BFF Kinzi just got a new job with Enterprise...she said good-bye to car rental and said hello to Fleet Management!! Woo-hoo!!

Bess is now Dr. Bess Weeks!!!!! She just finished her AuD in Audiology and got her first job as an Audiologist for Fulton County Schools!

This newly married gal said good-bye to B'ham and her old job and said hello to a new job as a CPA in the A-T-L!! Boo-yah!

Caroline said good-bye to a Big 4 Accounting firm (and lots of stress and traveling) and said hello to working for HealthSouth!

I am so proud of all my friends and their many accomplishments! We have so much to be thankful for. Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Father's Day

My parents came in town on Thursday because my Dad had some business meetings at Ross Bridge this weekend. It was great to have them in town...especially since it's Father's Day weekend! The Crowe family came home from the beach this weekend, so we all loaded up and went out to meet my parents for a day by the pool. For those of you who have never been out to Ross Bridge, it is beautiful! I was super-impressed by all their amenities...I honestly felt like I wasn't in Birmingham!

We spent a few hours on Saturday out at this fantastic pool!

DB had a blast running through the fountains!

She LOVED the water!!!

Our little pool-baby!

DB was all about the chips at lunch

Today, we celebrated Father's Day by having lunch altogether at Sister's house. She and I whipped up Giada's Chicken Tetrazzini (It took forever to make, but it was great!) and a great salad for lunch. It was great to have everyone in town and to be able to celebrate my dad...he is the bomb.com! haha Honestly though, I think I have the best Dad. How he has put up with three (high-maintenance) women for the majority of his life is beyond me!!

I had to take a pic of this...Katherine gave this book to Blake for part of his Father's Day present. So appropriate since we call her "DoodleBug"!! (DB for short!)

This made my dad's day...he LOVES his "Baby Doll"!!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!!!

WARRRRRRRR EAGLE...HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I know it is only June, but I am offically ready for football season now. On Tuesday, Sister and I headed up to A'ville to go to the Marshall County Auburn Club meeting with Mom, Dad, and DB. Guess who was there?? Coach Chizik and AUBIE!!!!!!!

The whole family decked out in orange and blue and drove up to the Guntersville State Park. There were soooo many people there! DB was such a trooper and she didn't even cry one time. We participated in Tiger Walk and welcomed Coach and Aubie with some loud cheers. I had the Reb in one hand and a shaker in the other! Caution-here comes some major cheesiness!

Being at the meeting with my family, seeing so many people there that love AU as much as I do, and hearing Coach Chizik talk about my Tigers, got me a little emotional! Coach Chizik talked a lot about family...the Auburn family specifically, and what it means to be a part of that. It made me ponder back on all my great Auburn memories...even the ones I have from childhood. I am so proud to be a part of the Auburn family!!!! Football season is just around the corner....I can already taste a game dog and a cold drink! WDE!!

"It's great to be an Auburn tiger!"

Sister, DB, Connor, and me

DB didn't quite understand what was going on!!

We waited in line FOREVER for a pic with Aubie and the DB...just as we got to the front, they stopped taking pics. So unfortunately, this is the best one we got! Her expression cracks me up!

Out future tiger!

Here comes more cheesiness...I couldn't help but take a pic of all our name-tags. My family is definitely an AU family. Mom, Dad, Sister, me, and Aunt Jenn all are proud alumnus! And you better believe we all proudly wore our Alumni stickers at the meeting...regardless of the fact that it didn't go with my outfit!! haha

Wednesday afternoon, I headed down to Lake Martin for a little R & R with Caroline. She had the week off of work (she starts her new job on Monday!!) so we decided some time at the lake was just what the Dr. ordered. We literally did nothing and it was great...we ate, layed out, drank fun drinks, and went on several boat rides. It was very relaxing and I'm missing the sounds of the waves already! Thanks, Caroline for a wonderful trip!!!!!!!
We made some yummy chicken enchilads (from the JLB cookbook) for dinner on Wednesday night!

Dinner out on the deck

I used a lot of this on Thursday!

Allison's Bachelorette Party

So I'm depressed and super-sad that Allison's Bachelorette Party is over. We headed down to Destin this past weekend before the oil arrived and partied it up! All 4 Lucas sisters, Marilyn, Alice, Bess, Bails, Britt, and me had a great weekend celebrating with Allison. Casey-we missed you! We played lots of fun games, got some sun, laughed 'til we cried, and just enjoyed being together. It rained off and on, but it didn't slow us down a bit.

Friday night we stayed in and all hung out together. Saturday, we loaded the cooler, made some killer turkey sandwiches and hit the beach!! We lasted about 2 1/2 hours before the rain arrived. We got SOAKED! It was thundering, lightning, and all we could do was laugh! By the time we made it back to the house, it stopped...so we decided to drop everything in the front yard and head to the pool.

Saturday night we threw Allison a lingerie shower and then headed out for the night to Baytowne. Who doesn't love a night out at RumRunner's and The Village Door??!! It was soooo much fun!

They'll be married in 1 month!!

Our refrigerator was stocked for some F-U-N!!!

Bess made Mrs. Marilyn's infamous oyster crackers!!

We had our cards...

and our "spoons"! Our game of spoons got a little intense!!

Bess was proud of her "House of Skip"!

The Bachelorette on the beach!

We set up all of her "Bachelorette gear"!!

The cutest cups!

A group shot...but wait...where are the Lucas sisters???

Here they are!!

Her sash matched her dress!!

Britt and me at RumRunner's

We were sad to say good-bye to "Skinny Dippin"!!

Allison-we had a blast celebrating with you! Despite the fact that I got my very first speeding ticket on our way home on Sunday (BOO!!!!!), it was an amazing weekend! Can't wait for the big wedding weekend!!!!!

First Week of Vacay

My first week of vacay has been BUSY! I haven't rested much, but that's ok...I have the rest of the summer for that! I have been waking up super-early everyday so that my sister (A.K.A. drill sergeant) can whip my butt into shape! We've been exercising in Liberty Park every morning. If you were to drive through their neighborhood around 7 on any given morning, you would see Sister pushing DB in the stroller running and me about 20 feet behind them! Maybe by the end of the summer I'll be able to catch up with them!!

One of my favorite things about summer is getting to eat lunch outside of the school building! haha Sister treated me to lunch at O'Carrs on Tuesday...I've been craving some of their yummy chicken salad and fruit! It was an extra special treat because Anna Barron and her beautiful baby Elle joined us! Both of the "little ones" were very well-behaved and we had a great lunch.

Elle, Anna, Sister, and DB

Look at her beautiful blue eyes!

I keep forgetting to mention that DB is OBSESSED with my chapstick! Everytime she sees me she immediately asks for it. Please notice the Vaseline in her hand!

Elle LOVED the fruit and couldn't get enough of it!!

Yesterday was filled with some much-needed family time. Our cousin Christa and her son Andrew (from San Diego, CA) were in Huntsville visiting my aunt and uncle. They loaded up the car and headed down to B'ham. It looked like baby-palooza in sister's living room, but it was great! Baby Andrew is adorable and he and DB had a great time playing with each other. Christa-it was so good to see you! We are looking forward to the next visit!!!

DB and Andrew were all over the place!

Andrew loved DB's ball popper!

I'm off to Destin tomorrow (oil please stay away!!) for Allison's Bachelorette Party....WAHOO!!!! Then I'm heading to A'ville on Tuesday to meet Coach Chizik at the Auburn Club! Get ready for lots of blog updates. I hope everyone's summer is off to as great of a start as mine!
